Welcome to my new nature and wildlife photography website

I am delighted to launch this new website after recognising that the time had come for me to professionalise my hobby to date, and to showcase my best photography in a single place with a portfolio of images that I am proud to share.

In conjunction with the launch of my new website, I am also launching a new Instagram account dedicated solely for all my nature and wildlife photography going forward. I would like to thank all my existing Instagram followers that have supported and encouraged my photographic endeavours thus far and invite you to now follow me on @deborahrussell_photography for more captures from wonderful wild places going forward.  

My photographic journey has come a long way since my first African safari experience in 2017 where two interests coalesced, nature and photography. My photography had improved incrementally over the years but I could see it still wasn’t what I call, epic!  Despite alot of online study and self help, I simply didn’t know what I didn’t know on how to improve my photography further.  So, I decided to go all in and invest in myself as wildlife photographer and in 2025 I was selected to join a fabulous group of award-winning photographers on my first photo tour in Tanzania, "Wildlife Photography Workshop”, led by Federico Veronesi and Tin Man Lee.  This tour was the catalyst to my transformation and approach to wildlife photography. With renewed curiosity, passion and perspective, I am now on a clearer path to authentically capturing those epic wildlife moments and my evolving journey as wildlife photographer
