PAW PATROL

At dawn, the sky was filled with dramatic clouds that delivered a beautiful soft light over the mud flats of Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, Alaska. This coastal brown bear was exploring the mud flats for razor clams which make up this omnivore's seasonal diet. I wanted to capture the profile of this strident bear with good leg separation but also the reflection of light on the flats. By kneeling down, I held my camera and lens mere centimetres off the surface.
